The likelihood of having your drink spiked on a day or night out in St Helens is very low, however the Safer St Helens Community Safety Partnrship want to equip our residents and visitors with the information on what to do should the worst happen. 

Spiking occurs when alcohol, date rape drugs, illegal drugs or prescription drugs are added to a persons drink, with the intention of making them lose control of themselves, or becoming incapacitated. It can happen to anybody of any age or gender. The substances can be tasteless, odourless and colourless, so are hard to detect, they can take effect in around 15 - 30 minutes and symptoms can last for several hours.
